HARLEY-DAVIDSON DARK CUSTOM LOGO
This logo I designed is starting to creep across the nation. Recently spotted BIG and smack in the middle of the UFC mat. Color me pleased as punch!

totally awesome logo, thinking about having it painted on my harley
Thanks! I bet it would look most righteous on a bike.
Nice indeed!
Pretty.
we’re in the black hills for easter — the early reviews from the locals are all positive. (of course, these are bike watchers, not bikers themselves …)
Where can I get a logo patch for my Vanson Jacket? Looked everywhere, can’t find them anywhere???? My dealer doesn’t even have them.
I found this story and it looks like they gave credit for that incarnation of the logo to Mr. Davidson:
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/20/automobiles/20HARLEY.html?_r=1&pagewanted=print&oref=slogin
“…Mr. Davidson, known for his attention to design detail, has closely supervised not only the new bikes but the graphics used to publicize and market them. He drew and signed the skull-and-crossbones logo for the line.
But this is a long way from pirate or Goth: the crossed bones could be wrenches. And the skull and bones are so softly drawn they could come from a children’s storybook; they are marshmallow-soft. He devised another logo based on the numeral one, used by the company when it was owned by AMF, the sporting goods conglomerate, from 1969 to 1981. Again Mr. Davidson added a skull, but instead of looking sinister, it recalls the innocence of a Sunday comic — specifically Skull Cave in the strip The Phantom…”
Hmmm… kinda lame but what do you expect. American news media is joke. They should maybe do some fact checking before they print shit.
In all fairness… Willie G. designed the original #1 logo and he DID design the skull but it was I who fused the two together.
Whatever.
The skull and crossbones they refer to is on the oil tank of the 2009 CrossBones. (not shown in the article)
Any word on whether there will be merch for this? I’d love to get that logo on a t-shirt. I’ve been checking dealerships, but with no luck.
There’s going to be some banner ads live on the internet soon that will allow you to submit your mailing info and you can get a sticker pack mailed to you. So far that’s all I’ve been made aware of. Be on the lookout for those. I’ll post links to the sites when I find out when they’re live.
